The Open Universiteit in Belgium (Open Universiteit Vlaanderen) is a collection of study centres in Flanders, Belgium from the Open Universiteit Nederland, which is an independent government-funded institute for distance learning at university level in the Netherlands.
In 1984 an agreement was reached between the Vlaamse Interuniversitaire Raad (VLIR) and the de Open Universiteit Nederland with which Flemish or Dutch-speaking students in Belgium have the opportunity to study the Dutch programmes with Flemish guidance.
