The Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) was established by the Government of Karnataka in 1996, with the objectives of introducing and promoting the system of open university and distance learning in the state of Karnataka, India. The university headquarters are in Mysore. KSOU's objective is to provide education to working professionals and others who cannot attend full-time or part-time educational courses offered by universities. KSOU does not seem to focus on e-learning.
