Hawaii DOE E-School
The Hawaii DOE E-School (E-School/HVLN) is an online high school located in the US state of Hawaii. It is part of a supplemental programme offered by Hawaii Virtual Learning Network (HVLN) and the Hawaii Department of Education.
E-School offers courses to students in grades 7-12, and had approximately 2,500 enrollments in 2009-10. Fifteen member schools pay a nominal membership fee and receive benefits such as online professional development courses and access to online course content.
During the regular school year only registered Hawaii DOE secondary education students may register and participate. There is a two class limit per semester for the students, who remain registered full time at their regular school.
Courses are delivered via WebCT and may include web pages, email, threaded discussion, chat, streaming video and online textbooks.
