VISCED supraregions

The supraregions of interest to VISCED are:

1. Anglophone Africa
2. Central Asia (former CIS)
3. Commonwealth LAC (Latin America/Caribbean including UK colonies)
4. Commonwealth Oceania (those countries in Oceania in the Commonwealth of Nations - such as Samoa and Tonga)
5. East Asia (excluding India|)
6. Eastern Europe (former CIS)
7. EU (apart from countries studied separately
8. Francophone Africa (Sub-Saharan)
9. French/Dutch LAC (Latin America and Caribbean - French-speaking and Dutch-speaking countries including Overseas Departments and Territories of France - plus entities within the Kingdom of the Netherlands).
10. Hispanic America
11. Middle East
12. non-Commonwealth Oceania (those countries in Oceania not in the Commonwealth of Nations)
13. North Africa
14. Yugosphere (countries of former Yugoslavia - thus not Albania).

In addition there is the "meta-region"

• Rest of the World (all countries not covered as countries or in regions)
