Puerto Rico Council on Higher Education
The Puerto Rico Council on Higher Education (Spanish:Consejo de Educación Superior; CHE-PR) is an agency of the government of Puerto Rico in charge of coordinating all efforts related to higher education in Puerto Rico. It was created by means of Law Number 17 of June 16, 1993.

- authorizing and monitoring the operation of new institutions of higher education (accreditation)
- periodically review the already existing institutions (review)
- authorizing new academic offerings (validation)

Agencies
It has as an agency the Center for Studies and Documentation on Puerto Rican Higher Education, which commissions research into issues in higher education of relevance to Puerto Rico.
