Karabar High School Distance Education Centre
The Karabar Distance Education Centre (Karabar) is a state public virtual school located in Karabar, New South Wales (NSW), Australia.
The distance education centre is integrated in the Karabar High School. The students are based in Illawarra and the South-East Region, half of Riverina Region, a number of schools in the Australian Capital Territory and students studying the NSW curriculum in a number of countries around the world.
Karabar caters for the years 7 to 12 and enrols more than 350 full-time equivalent distance education students, but students have the possibility to also enrol in single courses.
Karabar High School and Distance Education Centre’s mission is to provide quality teaching and learning experiences to prepare students for the future as lifelong learners and members of the community. Its vision is to be a premier all inclusive school of choice for the community.

Karabar Distance Education Centre is integrated in the Karabar High School which has a total enrolment that currently exceeds 1200 students, with over 850 students enrolled in the high school campus.
The High School also hosts five special education classes and provide curriculum for the Queanbeyan and South East Industry Training College, which is a joint partnership with Illawarra TAFE.
Karabar emphasises on curriculum differentiation in class programming to enable all students to maximise their learning potential: it is part of the NSW Department of Education and Training Partially-Selective High School Class Program (introduced in 2010) and organises gifted and talented student programmes, including a Performing Arts/Gifted and Talented Student Class; and a Special Education Unit with three classes, including a multi-categorical class;
