The Associatie Universiteit-Hogescholen Limburg (AUHL) is an association of Universities and Colleges.


The Associatie Universiteit-Hogescholen Limburg was established on 24 September 2003. Next to its decree-stated functions, its main social ambition is to enhance the further extension of the higher education in the province of Limburg (in Flanders in Belgium) and the enhancement of scientific research and scientific and social services.


VLE

It supports e-learning through the LMS Blackboard.

Its members and their LMS locations are the:

  1. Universiteit Hasselt (UHasselt) with the LMS Blackboard
  2. XIOS Hogeschool Limburg (XIOS) with the LMS Blackboard
  3. Provinciale Hogeschool Limburg (PHL) with the LMS Blackboard and Electronic Portfolio (EPOS) which maps the student's progress. The PHL has the slogan The College with the laptop as it expects each student to have a laptop. It promotes anytime anywhere learning and states that it has the biggest wireless LAN campus network of Europe.

The AUHL’s main office is in Diepenbeek, Belgium. Other members are located in the city of Hasselt.

Note: What is also interesting about one of the members, Universiteit Hasselt (UHasselt), is that it is part of the transnational University Limburg / transnationale Universiteit Limburg (tUL) with the Universiteit Maastricht (UM).
