The AIESAD-EADTU Credit Transfer In Virtual and Distance Education (NetACTIVE) was selected in 2005, and funded from 1 December 2005 until 30 November 2007 by the European Commission under the Erasmus Mundus Programme - Action 4: Enhancing Attractiveness

The NetACTIVE web site is at http://www.net-active.info/

Summary

The main purpose of the NetACTIVE project was to increase the number of virtual mobility students from third countries towards European distance and blended Masters programmes.

The first objective of NetACTIVE was to develop the tools needed for the adaptation and dissemination of ECTS in Latin America. Latin-America has been selected as target region because of the mutual interests, the high number of potential students and their present experiences in academic recognition. The second objective of NetACTIVE was to disseminate European courses offered at Masters level in study areas of special interest for third countries. While the first objective has a Latin-American focus, the second one was world-wide.

Outcomes

Main outcome of the project is the handbook “NetACTIVE: bases and proposals for good practices in Virtual Mobility (an intercontinental approach)” (downloadable from the project website http://www.net-active.info/). It is a guide for the use of the ACTIVE Virtual Mobility Scheme, describing good and effective models and procedures of academic mobility and recognition, how to establish agreements, how to use the documents and how to deal with the possible difficulties.
