The Hawaii Virtual School (HVS) is a private, online school founded in 2003. It is located in the US state of Hawaii. It is a virtual high school, middle school and elementary school. All students must pay tuition, at a rate of $1175 per year. Courses are delivered over "The Learning Center" system, with teacher guidance/interaction.
In 2011 HVS chose Blackboard Learn 9.1 to replace its open source learning management system. The platform provides online courses for over 1,200 students through the Hawaii Virtual Learning Network-ESchool (Hawaii DOE E-School).
