The Uppsala University (Uppsala Universitet, UU) supports student support through an online student portal, but not e-learning as far as we know. Uppsala University, founded in 1477, was the first university in Scandinavia. Its goals are to be:

  • a university for outstanding research
  • a university for first-class education
  • a university in society
  • a university under constant development

The university has its own Quality and Evaluation Unit, which is a part of the University Administration and implements the strategies and decisions of the central quality committee. The main task of the unit is to support quality, quality work and quality assessments within undergraduate and graduate programmes and courses.

The institution’s main office is in Uppsala, Sweden. Other campuses are located in a close distance in Upssala itself.

UU has three disciplinary domains: Arts and Social Sciences, Medicine and Pharmacy, and Science and Technology. Uppsala University offers some 50 programmes for beginners, about 45 master programmes, and close to 2,000 single-subject courses. Enrolment is 40,000 undergraduate and graduate students per year, which corresponds to about 20,000 full-time students. The university has 6,000 employees of which 4,000 are teachers/researchers.

The Student Portal offers access to the student-specific course and programme pages, study results, e-transcripts, information from the Student Union, his/her own file area and webmail! For certain courses, registration is also available here plus exam registration and the division of study groups within a course.
