EloV
In 2001 VVKSO (Vlaams Verbond van het Katholiek Onderwijs) decided to stimulate e-learning in Flanders and opted for Blackboard. To reduce costs for the secondary schools a partnership with K.U.Leuven was sought in September 2005. This led to the birth of EloV - the Electronic Learning Environment Flanders. The Toledo team of the KU Leuven (who also supports the Blackboard-based learning environment for the K.U.Leuven Association) manages de Elov servers, provides some additional features and provides technical support.
The digital learning platform EloV offers schools throughout Flanders the opportunity to bring students and teachers together virtually and to offer course and testing materials to pupils in secondary education. In addition, EloV offers teachers the possibility to develop and share learning materials. Also future teachers are welcome on the EloV platfrom: they get the opportunity to get acquainted with the platform and develop digital teaching skills.
