Dokeos

Dokeos is an open-source Virtual learning environment.

Until recently it had little penetration in education but a new variant, Dokeos Education, was launched in May 2010 - see http://www.dokeos.com/en/node/723.

The system now claims 2.5 million users (http://www.dokeos.com/en/node/729) and there is a list of user sites at http://www.dokeos.com/en/community.php
