Research interests
I am interested in elearning design, creation, implementation and evaluation in organizational contexts. I am currently focusing on online interaction and its relationship to training effectiveness. I am happy to compare notes and share information with other researchers.
About me
I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Monterrey (UDEM), Mexico, with a Bachelor of Psychology in 2006. My thesis was on applications of Industrial/Organizational Psychology, focusing on employee permanence, turnover, recruitment and selection.
While studying, I was doing an internship in the Human Capital and Development Department of a large company (+6,000 employees). I was in charge of managing their online training system and supporting online students. I also helped in the design of face-to-face courses. I worked there for three years.
In 2007 I received a national scholarship and studied a Master in Science with the option of Cognition and Education at the Faculty of Psychology of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL), Mexico. My thesis was titled: “Relationships between affect, attitude, and the effectiveness of an online training system”. I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2009 and became a teacher for undergraduate Psychology students at UANL.
In 2010 I was awarded a state scholarship to study the PhD in eLearning and Learning Technologies at the Beyond Distance Research Alliance (now the Institute of Learning Innovation) of the University of Leicester, UK.
