ABC Islands

The ABC Islands are Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao. They are part of the Leeward Antilles, the southern island chain of the Lesser Antilles.
Aruba and Curaçao are autonomous countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Bonaire is a special municipality of the Netherlands.
Confused - so are we!
All three islands were part of the Netherlands Antilles, but Aruba withdrew much earlier than the other two.
