Thompson Rivers University has evolved over the last two decades from a community college to an innovative university-college, and now to a full provincial university with a unique mandate involving global distance e-learning delivered via TRU Open Learning.

TRU offers a unique combination of traditional degree programmes, many allowing diploma and certificate programme graduates access through laddering, along with flexible degree completion through distance education as the BC Centre for Open Learning.
