Tripura is a state in the (region) of India. One of the Seven Sisters States, it borders Bangladesh to the north, south and west, with Assam and Mizoram to the east.
The 2011 census records a population of 3.6 million, making it the 21st most populous state in India. The state capital and largest city is Agartala.
Education in Tripura
Tripura has a literacy rate of 87.75% according to the 2011 census. Tripura University is the only higher education institution in the state. Established in 1987 it is situated in Suryamaninagar.
