The Illinois Virtual High School (IVS) is an online school located in the US state of Illinois. The Illinois State Board of Education has managed and operated the Illinois Virtual School since April 2009.
IVS had 2,445 course enrollments during the 2009-10 school year.
IVS serves students from a number of districts, from the very large Chicago Public School District, to Tremont, a small, rural district. The school employs 70 Illinois certified, highly qualified teachers, who offer supplemental online courses to students in grades 5-12.
The cost of courses is $250.00 per course in the Fall and Spring semesters. Summer courses are $225 per course. IVS uses the open educational resource HippoCampus for content.
