The Texas Virtual Academy (YXVA, Texas Virtual Academy@Southwest) is a full-time, online charter school located in the US state of Texas. TXVA is partnered with the private K12 Inc for course provision. The programme is free to Texas residents. Students are in grades 3-11 (and will be able to enter grads 12 in 2012-2013). Learning takes place entirely online.

In 2009-2010 there were 2,120 students enrolled.

Students spend no more than 25 percent of their time on the computer, and use textbooks and other materials as well. Based on financial need, TXVA may loan a computer system to an enrolling family.

The Texas Virtual Academy web site is at http://www.k12.com/txva/

More Details
