The University of Hradec Králové is in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1959 as the "University College of Education" (Vysoká škola pedagogická) and renamed in 2000.
The university offered its first first pilot online course in 1998, under the TEMPUS project MUDILT; and ramped up its online offerings soon thereafter. In 2001 online courses were offered to university students.
