Overview
Peru (Spanish: Perú; Quechua: Perú; Aymara: Piruw), officially the Republic of Peru (Spanish: República del Perú), is a country in western South America. It is bordered in the north by Ecuador and Colombia, in the east by Brazil, in the southeast by Bolivia, in the south by Chile, and in the west by the Pacific Ocean. The capital is Lima and the population is 30,475,144.

Regional OER initiatives
Institutional OER initiatives
Through the Universidad Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, Peru is participating in an international project called OportUnidad. Institutions from Latin America and the European Union participate in this project, which seeks to create a common ground in higher education by increasing the use of open educational resources (OERs) and practices (OEPs). Other Peruvian institutions are fellow members of this project, including the following:

OportUnidad started in January 2012 and ends in June 2014.
