Massachusetts is a state in the New England region of the north-eastern United States. It borders Vermont and New Hampshire to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east lies, Rhode Island and Connecticut to the south and New York to the west.

The population of Massachusetts is over 6.5 million as of 2010. The state capital and largest city is Boston. Massachusetts is known as the Bay State.

Virtual schools in Massachusetts

Massachusetts has a state-led learning portal, MassONE, which offers online tools and resources to all pre-K-12 teachers in the state, and supports students in grades 5-12. Currently 50,396 teachers and students are active MassONE users (from January 2009 – July 2010).
