HEFCE is the Higher Education Funding Council for England in the United Kingdom.
It promotes and funds high-quality, cost-effective teaching and research, meeting the diverse needs of students, the economy and society.
Its web site is http://www.hefce.ac.uk/
HEFCE has recently (31 January 2008) announced the distribution of £2.4 billion in capital funding for learning and teaching, research and infrastructure over the next three years in the Higher Education sector.
