The Universidad Austral de Chile (Southern University of Chile, UACh) supports distance and blended learning. The University Austral of Chile was founded under Decree number 3,757 on the 7th of September, 1954, in Valdivia.


The institution’s main office is in Valdivia, Chile. Other campuses are located in Puerto Montt, Teja and in other parts of Valdivia. It also has an institute that is located in Coyhaique and an administrative office in Santiago.

Today, the university consists of 9 faculties (departments), 42 undergraduate degrees, 12,000 students, more than 730 professors, 152,000 books in the universities’ libraries.


Since its inception in 2000, "UVirtual" (Spanish) has developed an incessant work supporting the development, innovation and improvement in higher education institutions and National and International Organizations.


UVirtual uses Software MOT and Padi, and Video conferencing.
