Guatemala/OER

Overview

Guatemala, officially the Republic of Guatemala (Spanish: República de Guatemala), is a country in Central America bordered by Mexico to the north and west, the Pacific Ocean to the southwest, Belize to the northeast, the Caribbean to the east, and Honduras and El Salvador to the southeast. Its area is 108,890 km2 (42,043 mi2) with an estimated population of 15,438,384. The capital is Guatemala City.

OER Initiatives in Guatemala

Institutional OER initiatives

The Techological Campus in Guatemala is a fellow member of an international project called OportUnidad. Institutions from Latin America and the European Union participate in this project, which seeks to create a common ground in higher education by increasing the use of open educational resources (OERs) and practices (OEPs). OportUnidad started in January 2012 and ends in June 2014.
