Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education

The Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education is charged with responsibility for matters relating to education in Higher Vocational Education (Yh-training and advanced vocational education) and supplementary education.

It is also responsible for coordinating and supporting a national structure for validation, and to be the national focal point for the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning, the EQF.

It is headquartered in Vasteras, with an office in Hässleholm.

The Authority is headed by a Director-General and has about 80 employees, divided into five sections.

In Vasteras is the Department of Education, Division of intelligence and monitoring, and Department of internal support and control.

In Hässleholm is the Division of supervisory and quality and with the Department of Communication and student records.

The Agency also has an advisory council that serves as an advisory body to the Director General, and a Labour Council which assists the Authority with information on social development.
