The Laureate Education (Laureate Education, Inc.) is an education services company based in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, which owns a number of for-profit colleges and online universities. These include Walden University and numerous other college brands worldwide. The company has programs in 20 countries and with its online programmes, has more than 500,000 'student-customers' worldwide.

The company began in 1998 as Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc. In 2001 the company purchased 41% of Walden University, gaining a controlling interest in 2002. In 2004, Sylvan Learning Systems became Laureate Education, Inc.
