The Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers (CNAM) provides hybrid and online education in addition to traditional face-to-face education. Online study is available via CNAM's Plei@d platform.

Operated by the government in France, it is dedicated to providing education and conducting research for the promotion of science and industry. It was founded on October 10, 1794, during the French Revolution. CNAM is divided into multiple centres across France, all of which are operated autonomously.

As noted on their web site, CNAM seeks to enable students:

  • to improve their skills
  • to keep ahead developments in each field
  • to follow a complement training
  • to get a degree or recognized qualifications.

90,000 individuals are enrolled in CNAM's professional programs, and 7,000 are earning undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degrees. Of these 25% are distance learners, many supported by e-learning.

CNAM's main office is in Paris, France.
