Established in 1993, the University of Humanities and Economics (AHE) is one of Poland’s largest private higher-education institutions. It was previously named Wyzsza Szkola Humanistyczno-Ekonomiczna w Lodzi (WSHE),

In 2007 we gained the right to award PhDs in the following fields: linguistics in the field of humanities, informatics in the field of technical sciences, and plastic arts in the field of fine arts.


The institution’s main office is in Lodz, Poland.



AHE students have a unique chance to take part in the running of our professional TV channel, Patio TV, targeted at young viewers. Our students use professionally equipped rooms for TV and radio production, and are supervised by qualified journalists and graphics sound and picture specialists.


AHE’s computer science faculty has the accreditation of the German Accreditation Committee ASIIN.

The Polish Virtual University/Polski Uniwersytet Wirtualny (PUW) is also a part of the AHE. It organises studies and supplementary courses via the Internet, with the aim of supporting training and traditional lectures and promoting modern methods of education. The PUW provides a chance to gain qualifications without leaving your home. Internet communications and didactic materials are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, wherever you are.
