The ASEAN Virtual University was established by the ASEAN University Network (AUN) in 1997-1998, designed to help ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asia Nations) member countries transfer a sense of regional awareness and identity to students. A single shared curriculum was developed to provide information about ASEAN societies, economies and politics; its syllabus is available on the ASEAN Virtual University site. Development of the Virtual University was led by De La Salle University in the Philippines.

The ASEAN Virtual University web site is at http://aunvirtualu.dlsu.edu.ph/
