Bieke Schreurs is a researcher and project coordinator at the Open Universiteit since April 2010. She is involved in projects to support primary and secondary schools to stimulate the professional development of teachers through the use of ICT. She also does research on implementing measures to streamline (ICT) innovations in schools.

Due to her former work experience at EuroPACE and the K.U.Leuven she is a skilled project co-ordinator with 5 years experience of European projects in the area of ICT enhanced learning, virtual campuses and e-learning. She coordinated the VENUS project, in which she experimented with didactical models to organise virtual seminars in higher education. She also coordinated the Re.ViCa project, set-up to review Virtual Campus Initiatives around the world. In the frame of these European projects she published two books, one about the organisation of Virtual Seminars and a book about the Virtual Campus phenomenon. She was also involved as a researcher in a number of other European projects in the area of digital television, virtual campuses and new educational technologies. As well as the projects she also organised and delivered a range of training activities related to the use of ICT in education. She has delivered numerous lectures and presentations at renowned national and international conferences and events about the use of ICT in Education.

Bieke Schreurs received the MA degree in Communication Science at the K.U.Leuven, in 2003. She also received the MA degree in Electronic communication at the K.U.Leuven.
