George Ubachs

George Ubachs is Manager, Academic Services at the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU). EADTU is the representative organisation of both the European open and distance learning universities and of the national consortia of higher education institutions active in the field of distance education and elearning. He coordinates European Initiatives in relation to Open and Distance Learning by organising strategic and expert meetings as well as thematic seminars, task forces and conferences. Next to this he is working on the development of related projects and is coordinator/partner in several running projects.

Before joining EADTU, George Ubachs has been working on various European projects in the public and private sector (MAECON/EAM Consultants) in the field of regional economic development and social improvement. In relation to this he coordinated projects under several European Programmes. Further, he was coordinator of the European Network of E2C-Europe (Cities for Second Chance Schools).

George Ubachs graduated at the State University of Leiden and Erasmus University Rotterdam on Public Administration with specialisation in European Integration.
