UC Berkeley is the flagship campus of the University of California. It's open webcasting program began in 1995 under the oversight of professor Larry Rowe, and his research lab, Berkeley Mulitmedia Resource Center. In 2001 it came under the newly formed Educational Technology Services and has been providing a steadily increasing amount of video and audio content from select courses and events across campus.
