For the purposes of this wiki we take Flanders to be the semi-autonomous and predominantly Flemish-speaking region in the north of Belgium excluding the Capital Region (of Brussels).

The topic of "what is Flanders really" seems to be extremely controversial and likely to be impossible for a non-Belgian to understand, even the issues let alone "the truth".
