Washington Virtual Academies
The Washington Virtual Academies (WAVA) forms a tuition-free K-12 online public school located in the US state of Washington. It consists of several individual schools districts partnered with the private K12 Inc for course provision.
Learning is undertaken via both internet and textbooks (provided); student spend 20 to 25 percent of their time on the computer in the early grades and more as they progress.
WAVA offers full-time and part-time educational options.
In Monroe school district (just one of several), there were 810 students enrolled in 2009-2010 (grades 6-12).

WAVA is a programme of Steilacoom Historical School District No. 1 (grades K-8), Monroe Public Schools (grades 9-12), and Omak School District (grades K-12).
Students are invited to participate in school outings, field trips, etc. Certain extracurricular activities may be available to students in their resident school districts.
