West Virginia Virtual School
The West Virginia Virtual School (WVVS) is a statewide virtual school located in the US state of West Virginia.
Created by the West Virginia Legislature on July 1, 2000, the mission of the Virtual School is to assure consistent, high quality education for the students of West Virginia.
Supplemental student may use WVVS to take courses online that are not offered in their local schools. Most take one course at a time; none are fully online students (i.e. all remain enrolled at their local, traditional schools). The WV Virtual School is not a diploma-granting institution; students are enrolled in, and graduated from, their local schools.
Course content is available from Apex Learning, Aventa Learning, BYU Independent Study, Florida Virtual Global School, AMDG, Inc, Mountaineer Virtual and Virtual GreenBush.
