Keystone Online School
The Keystone Online School (Keystone) is a private, for-profit, national online middle and high school located in the US. It is a division of KC Distance Learning, part of the private K12 Inc.
It provides an education for atypical learners such as: athletes and performers; homebound/homeschooled students; and advanced students who seek challenges not available at their local school - among others.
Keystone is open to students of all ages. It is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools and authorised as a diploma-granting institution. There are about 10,000 students. The school was founded in 1974 as a correspondence programme, and has served more than 200,000 students.
Courses are self-paced and may be taken in any order. High-school-level students can choose between online and (paper-based) correspondence courses; and may mix online and paper-based courses. Courses cost between $129 and $549 each.
