Kentucky Virtual Schools
The Kentucky Virtual Schools (KYVS) was formerly known as "Kentucky Virtual High School". It offers a range of online, e-learning services to schools located in the US state of. Courses include Advanced Placement classes, foreign languages and core courses to accelerate learning and to make up credits. Learning is supplemental, self-paced, fully online and available to students statewide.
Run by the state's department of education, it is not a free service - but school districts typically absorb costs for students enrolled elsewhere in a traditional full-time public school. There are also private and homeschooled students. Fees are $165.00 per half-credit course, $330.00 per whole-credit course and $165 for a 9‐week credit recovery course. Diplomas are awarded by traditional Kentucky schools.
