The Louisiana Virtual School (LVS) is a US state virtual school founded in 2000. It is based in the state of Louisiana. LVS works with 78 school districts; as with most state virtual schools, all students enroll in LVS through their own school, and receive their diploma locally.

  • 14,000 course enrollments in 2009-10, representing 27% growth over 2008-09
  • Grown from 130 students in 2000-01 to 5,789 students in 2009-10
  • Despite record growth, for 2010-11 the total budget was reduced significantly
