- The South Carolina Virtual School Program (SCVSP) was piloted in 2006 by South Carolina Department of Education
- 17,100 course enrollments in 2009-10
- Goal: provide rigorous online courses to help increase the on-time graduation rate throughout the state
- Part-time supplemental programme that works with existing diploma-granting public, private and home schools
- Provides access to content recovery programmes for students who have not, or are not likely to, received credit for a course previously taken (i.e. credit recovery)
