MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) has been identified as an important US institution in the exploration of e-Learning.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is a private research university located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. MIT has five schools and one college, containing a total of 32 academic departments, with a strong emphasis on scientific and technological research.

MIT offers numerous services related to distance or open learning, such us mobile services for students, wherein they can use a people directory, schedules, and other tools - e.g. access to public lectures and course videos.
