The national university Federico Villareal or (Universidad Nacional Federico Villareal, UNFV) is a public institution founded in 1963. It is located in the capital of Peru, Lima. Years ago this university was part of the UNCP (Universidad Centro Perú) as were many other universities; but with the process of decentralization these were separated from the UNCP into different universities.

The university has numerous faculties, 18 in total: engineering, science, medicine, law along others.

The College of Distance Education is the academic body devolved of the UNFV structurally dependent of the Rector, to coordinate, develop, plan, organize, lead and manage the programs or Schooling. The distance education faculty has different offices around the country - to be exact, 8, where students can go to do the activities that are programmed to be face to face.
