The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile or UC, it was the first university in Chile, it was founded in 1888 as a catholic university, it is a private university, but 10% of the budget comes from the government. The university has 18 faculties offering 311 courses programmes, 87 bachelors, 90 master degrees, 29 doctoral degrees and 105 life longing studies.

For the distance education they have created TELEDUC, which offers 33 courses for 5,900 students.
