Universidad Jaume I or UJI, Is a public university located on the east coast of Spain, It was founded in 1991, which has just over 13,000 students. All the departments are in the same campus, so this help to the university community (students,teachers,researchers).They offer a variaty of bachelor degrees exactly 28, also postgraduate degree (38) and doctorate degree.

It was the first university that uses new information technologies, recognizing that communication and creativity are the most important instruments of the future. The Jaume I was the first Spanish institution to have a public web server (www.uji.es) and the first university to have a Center for Education and New Technologies (CENT) whose mission is research and advice in implementing new technologies to improve teaching quality. One of the Aims of CENT is innovation, they are working on the classroom of the future including the newest media tools and also they are researching in virtual learning environment (face to face, blended or distance),e-portfolio.

Taking into account the distance learning, they only offer it for postgraduate degree, it can be face-face, blended or distance. In the field of bachelor they don’t offer distance learning. They offer several tools for the community like moodle service,webmail, e-ujier it is a site where they offer several services such as: academics(marks, request programs etc) personnel, research, etc, virtual library, miUji very useful tool for distance learning is an instant messaging where you can speak with other students,teachers,tutors. Webforum, and OCW.

The university is member of OCW, Universia, Grupo tordesillas, Compostela Group of Universities and Xarxa Vives d’Universitats.
