The University of Waterloo supports various degrees through online and distance education, from bachelors in Arts and Science to master's in Management Sciences and Public Health.

As noted on the Waterloo Distance Education web site, course learning materials including visuals, audio, multimedia, and links to Internet resources. Students may use online Discussion Boards, email, and other social networking options. Some courses may require independent web research, the use of physical library facilities, and/or field work. There are numerous courses available in 100% online mode.

The university has roughly 26,000 students (of which 3,300 are postgraduate) and almost 1,000 faculty. It was founded in 1957. The University of Waterloo's main office is in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
