The University De Los Andes (Universidad de los Andes) is one of the best private universities in Colombia and the first one which was non-denominational.
It was founded in 1948 by a small group of young, charismatic and well-connected men, and has since grown to over 12,000 students with over 1100 teaching staff (nearly half of which are full-time).
