This CV dated August 2004, needs updating --Pbacsich 11:22, 6 February 2008 (CET)

Sandy Britain has recently (after a brief period as a freelance e-learning consultant) taken up a position in New Zealand at Tairawhiti Polytechnic, a rural tertiary institu-tion primarily serving the East Cape region of North Island.

At the time the reports in The e-University Compendium were written (2001), Sandy was working at the University of Wales in Bangor (now Bangor University), in the Centre for Learning Technology (CELT) along with co-authors Oleg Liber and Bill Olivier. In addition to supporting the development of e-learning within the institution, he worked on a variety of externally funded research and development projects. Much of this work was funded by JISC through the JTAP and “Building MLEs in HE” pro-grammes.

His role as e-learning co-ordinator at Tairawhiti is to develop innovative, effective and sustainable e-learning practice, although he hopes to continue to be actively in-volved in both research and national development initiatives.

Added January 2008: Sandy still seems to be at Tairawhiti Polytechnic. It notes that he a senior advisor to the Ministry of Education (New Zealand) on strategic e-learning matters.
