The University of Kentucky (UK) is a public land-grant university, located in Lexington, Kentucky, US. Founded in 1865 by John Bowman as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Kentucky, the university has 27,209 students, and is the highest ranked research university in the state of Kentucky.
The university offers 93 undergraduate programmes, 99 master's programmes, 66 doctoral programmes, and four professional programmes.
