Walden University is a private, for-profit, distance-learning university for undergraduate and postgraduate learning. Headquartered in Minnesota, US, Walden is a part of a network of campus and online-based for-profit universities owned by Laureate Education Inc. Walden has roughly 26,000 students. It was founded in 1971.

Walden courses are provided purely over the internet, with face-to-face residencies for certain doctoral and master’s programmes.
