Yorkshire Coast College merged with the Grimsby Institute in 2010 (a type B merger), forming a part of a new adopted trading style of The Grimsby Institute Group.

Alongside the Group's five key educational brands, Yorkshire Coast College, the Grimsby Institute, Lincolnshire Regional College in Skegness and Lincolnshire Rural Activities Centre in Louth, the Group has a Commercial Unit which has a national and international reputation and hosts a number of key business units including the UK National Productivity Centre, the Food Refrigeration and Process Engineering Research Centre (FRPERC) and we are a key partner with industry leaders in the Humber Seafood Institute and Seafood Processing Cluster.

In line with the latest Government initiatives, the Group is rapidly developing its vocationally led areas within the Work Based Learning Unit and increased intake on the Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship schemes that they operate in conjunction with many local and nationwide organisations.

The Group is a diverse organisation with revenues of over £50m per annum and a reach that extends beyond its key markets of Northern Lincolnshire, East Lindsey and Scarborough. The Group has a number of innovative partnerships with other educational organisations, the community and industry.
