The Oxford Virtual Academy offers a wide variety of online courses that appeal to students of all ages and with very diverse interests. Every student is matched with the course provider that best provides specialized instruction based on his or her individual needs. Classes are interactive as opposed to “clicker” environments.

Students can learn in their own way, at any time, in any place, and at their own pace.

Homeschooling

Oxford Virtual Academy (OVA) has devised a way for homeschool families to receive a dynamic education from home and developed partnerships with homeschool groups. With its unique and successful union of homeschool groups and a public school district, OVA provides programs that can enhance the great education you are already providing your families.

OVA works with local companies to develop community courses that offer exceptional educational programming beyond the traditional school setting. Examples include horticulture, equine science, therapeutic riding, photography, media and cable, and art classes at local art studios. In addition, OVA is able to provide homeschool students with transcripts and a high school diploma.

Of particular interest to the homeschool community are the following advantages:

  • Free virtual courses (K12, Apex Learning, Lincoln Interactive, e2020, PowerSpeak, and Aventa)
  • Opportunity for dual enrollment in college
  • Access to all high school activities (no pay-to-play in Oxford)
  • An open computer learning lab, staffed with certified, highly qualified teachers

School-College integrated programme

Oxford Schools Early College (OSEC) is a rigorous five-year high school, combining the best of the high school and an early college experience.

OSEC, located within Oxford Virtual Academy will offer both online/virtual and face-to-face instruction to enable students to earn their high school diploma and college credits up to an Associate’s Degree.

OSEC provides a supportive educational environment through the use of Mentor Teachers for students throughout Oakland County, as well as, all contiguous counties.

Students have the opportunity to earn up to 60 transferable college credits from Oakland Community College (OCC) or Rochester College before graduating as an OSEC high school student.
